Extreme low fps in the Ring of Fire
Hi all
First of all, sorry if this has been posted before, the search funtion is down (again) and I don't have the time to search the posts. I have the following problem: My FPS is down to about 10 in towns, and 3 while fighting in the FIRE ISLANDS. Other parts of the game, steady 50-75, depending on situation + map. Now, I can't really fight here, sound is stuttery too, it's my video card, I know it for sure, because my laptop runs it as 30, just as always. My sys specs are below:
3.0GhZ Intel Pentium 4 Hyper Threading
Dell Intel i945G Mainboard (suxorz I know, want to replace it just like I did with everything else)
1024MB DDR2 400 MhZ
6800GS Gigabyte @ 1150/475
Rest of specs are irrelivant since its not that problem
It's not my internet/lan, I had lan-party () with 3 others with NO lag at all, not even when copying files...
I hope you guys can help me, thanks for ANY awnsers!!

Fire Islands is a real graphics intensive area. There are a couple of parts that will slow you down to a minimal FPS. I have a card similar to yours and I get 12FPS sometimes depending on the area.

Okay thanks for answering, but I don't know, a 5600Go beats my 6800GS at the Fire Islands with about 15 FPS!! It's not I think a huge graphical chunk that lags, but its an NVIDIA card problem I think... Anyway thanks for the answer

Does this ONLY happen in the Ring Of Fire?
Did you have the quality set to max on your GF5600?
Do you have the quality set to max Now?
What is the card temperature at the time it happens?
Do you have the latest Drivers?
Do you have the latest Version of Direct X9c? (There was an April 2006 update)
What are the rest of the specs that you omitted?

Did you have the quality set to max on your GF5600? NO, but if I turn my graphics to VERY LOW on my 6800GS its 2 FPS better, on my laptop its on LOW and it is 10x better...
Do you have the quality set to max Now? On my 6800GS, YES, I play BF2 on MAX with 2x AA and 50 FPS! This is not my card...
What is the card temperature at the time it happens? Doesn't matter, at 40 Degrees Centigrate it does it and at 55C it does it.
Do you have the latest Drivers? YES, I've had them, no problem with them, but Rivatuner doesn't support it yet, so my card would be downclocked if I had the new patch which is lower performance.
Do you have the latest Version of Direct X9c? (There was an April 2006 update) NO, I'm downloading it now, thanks for this
What are the rest of the specs that you omitted? Rest of the spec I omitted? I think that it is all you need, be more specific since I'm not from England/America.

Also, when I am in the Fire Islands/Woe, TS and almost my entire computer lags! TS Stutters and there is a process called "System" taking up 50 % of my CPU, while it is taking 0% at other locations...
Thank you for you reply, I hope we can solve this
This SS it taken in Ember Light Camp, the figure 6 is the FPS shown on FRAPS.

The Mursaat Towers are NOT the problem here, its also in the FOW where there are no Mursaat Towers, its just EVERYWHERE in FOW and in The F I Chain. I'm doing a fresh install now, the direct x didn't fix anything... This is the last thing I can think of... I hope it works.
omg... 4000 files to decompress
